About Me

I’m Ted, and I got really into movies from the ‘80s and ‘90s back in the summer before the tenth grade. We had just moved to a new town and both my parents worked, so I had nothing to do except watch movies. I really caught onto John Hughes films in particular, like “The Breakfast Club”. I had been in detention before and I could really relate to that. I also liked lots of comedies like “Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure” and “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off”. They really speak to the teen experience.

To keep track of what I was watching I started a blog called “Excellent Ted’s Day Off”, but I let it go when I went to college. During sophomore year someone organized a regular movie screening on campus and I saw a whole new category of ’80s and ’90s movies, serious films like “Scarface”, “Silence of the Lambs” and “Goodfellas”. I revived the blog because I wanted a place to write about what I was learning when I watched these films.

After college movies became a way for me to unwind after work. I got a Netflix subscription and like to dig out more obscure movies, like “Something Wicked This Way Comes” and “The Untouchables”. Now, I post occasionally but I’m still a movie fan and I don’t think I’ll ever give that up.
